Do you have a favorite book on writing that reads like a memoir?
This November I’m working on a secret project with the Johnson County Public Library. To prepare for it I need to find find as many books as I can that are about writing, but read like memoir. Well known books along these lines are Stephen King’s, On Writing and Anne Lamott’s Bird by Bird.
Please, please, please reply to this email and let me know your favorite on writing/memoir style books. If it’s by a midlist author even better, because I feel like buying 50 copies of a book from a midlist author is way more fun than buying 50 copies of a book from a super-well-known fancy town author.
Thank you for your help. I appreciate you!

There’s a book called Story that might fit. I haven’t read it but I’ve heard it recommended. You’ll have to check it out.
On Writing Well by William Zinsser (I know I learned a lot from it but can’t remember if it’s the style you’re looking for)
Save the Cat Jessica Brody
